Is God opposed to 'Magick'? by Jon Logan

I would like at this point to say that 'psychic' and 'spirit' apply on different levels, and spiritual gifts are different than psychic abilities. The two have certainly been confused, historically. Faith, for example, is a spiritual quality, whereas telepathy is a psychic ability.

Opposed to magic? Hmmn. Well, hell, I'm opposed to some people practicing magic, especially some of the ones who spell it funny to impress people. ;-)

But everybody eventually does it, just about as soon as they can. And so they should, since it is a quite natural heritage for
everyone, and the biggest problem with magic (or 'magick' if you prefer) is that most people, including most magicians, view it as something which is unnatural and terribly mysterious, and something to go ooh and aah over. This tends to confuse the issue somewhat. No wonder we all do such stupid stuff with it at first.

Eventually, in order for somebody to become 'evolved', to be a 'grown-up', they pretty much have to have control of themselves to the degree that their will, mind, emotions and body respond to their wishes functionally, instead of these parts of a person going off on their own and doing what they want. Congratulations, we are now a magician.

At first, our hands are kind of like a mystery to us, they are just these things that poke us in the eye and grab our willy and pick our nose. But when we are grown up a bit more, we have control over our hands, and we can be taught things like for example how to use the stove. Of course the churches of the day and the other control-oriented groups don't like the cattle to know about stuff like that. And so they are opposed. They don't want you to learn to use the stove, they wanna sell you pop tarts.

They are also opposed because even the most backward hillbilly Faustian ritual magic wannabe probably knows at least one thing that proves the church has lied to people, and that is its own issue and has little to do with, say, Jesus being opposed to anything.

It is also the case that momma tells you to stay away from the stove when you are little, but that is not something which applies forever! What are you doing with your hands? Making lunch or jerking off? Burning the house down? That is basically the only way that Jesus or another real 'elder' being opposed to it enters the picture, and that only because they actually have your best
interests at heart. It may be some comfort to know that jerking off is tolerated much more than setting the house afire.

Jesus taught his disciples all kinds of stuff, including knowledge about metaphysics, and the planes of existence, and manifestation, and will, and divinity within every living being, etc. And he taught simpler stuff to the masses, basically out of necessity. And one of the things he taught was that you don't really need a church, which is what pissed off the guys running the temple so much. A point which the church was apparently able to gloss over about 1700 years ago.

Whatcha gonna do.
